With professional
teleconferencing services, each participant’s telephone line is routed
through sophisticated audio equipment called a ‘bridge’. This bridging
equipment receives and enhances each line electronically, evening
out the volume levels, and then sends the electronic voice signal
out to each listening ear. With teleconferencing services, everyone
participating sounds just like they would in 1 to 1 phone calls. The
teleconferencing services allow hundreds of people to be connected
in a single call. The participants first need to dial into the bridge.
The conference call company gives the call host a special dial-in
service number. The host distributes that number to the participants.
At the pre-arranged time, participants dial in and join the business
conference.
